MBA Data Analytics

To apply for the Walbrook MBA, you’ll need to meet one of the following:

Option 1:

• A 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution plus relevant professional experience (typically 2+ years).

• If you have less than 2 years’ experience, you’re still encouraged to apply. We’ll review your academic and professional background on a case-by-case basis.

Option 2:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.

Thinking of transferring institutions or have you studied before? You can apply to transfer up to 60 credits towards your MBA. Please note that credits can’t be awarded for the Research Development or Capstone Project modules.

Overseas qualifications may be accepted and will be subject to evidence of equivalency normally verified through ECCTIS (UK ENIC). 

If English isn't your first language, you’ll be asked to provide proof of your English language proficiency in one of the following forms. Alternatively, you may be accepted if you have previously studied in English at an appropriate level and attended a recognised institution.

IELTS

• Evidence of a score of IELTS Level 6.5 or above with no element below 6.0.

TOEFL iBT®

• Evidence of a score of 88 overall (with 18 in reading, 19 in listening, 19 in speaking and 23 in writing).

Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English (ISE)

• Evidence of a score of ISE II with distinction in each skill.

• Please note that Trinity College ISE academic results are only valid for two years.

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English

• Evidence of a score of 176 overall, with 169 in each component.

On this online MBA Data Analytics, you’ll study a series of carefully designed modules. With flexible monthly starts, you’ll join the next available module and study alongside a cohort learning the same subject at the same time.

  Explore the systems and processes that power large-scale data analytics. This module focuses on data collection, storage, and data visualisation, helping managers develop the analytical skills to evaluate quality, ensure operational efficiency, and deliver innovative solutions.

• Environmental Focus

  Explore how responsible business operations drive sustainable outcomes and long-term economic growth. You’ll analyse global and local contexts, applying analytical skills to evaluate corporate impact and ethical decision-making processes.

• Strategy Formulation and Implementation

  This module gives you the tools for business strategy and strategic leadership. Learn how global organisations plan for success, apply data-led insight, and align strategy with real-world business problems through structured analysis and reflection.

• Change Management

  Organisations must adapt to thrive. This module focuses on how leaders navigate change, using data-driven insight and effective communication to manage transformation. You’ll build the confidence and knowledge and skills to become an effective leader in evolving workplaces.

• Marketing Communication

  Discover how analytics supports business administration and brand strategy. This module develops effective communication and data-interpretation skills to create campaigns that connect insight with outcomes in competitive business environments.

• Agile HRM

  Explore how human resource strategies enhance business operations and adaptability. You’ll apply data analytics and leadership insight to assess performance, foster innovation, and improve workforce planning in today’s data-driven world.

• Financial and Business Intelligence

  Gain a data-driven view of business analytics and finance. This module focuses on evaluating performance, interpreting data, and applying predictive analytics for smarter strategic decision making and long-term organisational success.

• Research Methods

  Develop the knowledge and skills for academic and applied research. This module introduces research methods, data mining techniques, and statistical analysis, preparing you to investigate real-world problems and produce meaningful insights that inform strategy.

• Research Development

  Prepare for your final project by defining your focus area and approach. You’ll refine research aims, apply analytical frameworks, and plan data collection, building practical experience and applied research confidence for your chosen topic.

• Research Project

  Bring everything together in an independent study that connects data analytics with strategic decision making. You’ll apply research methods, analyse findings, and deliver actionable insights that address real business problems with clarity and impact.

Most modules include more than one assessment, helping you build skills gradually and apply your learning in different ways. You might complete two or three shorter tasks instead of one final assignment – weighted, for example, at 25%, 25% and 50%.

• Report: write a structured academic or business report that demonstrates critical analysis and application of theory.

• Strategic plan or business case: produce a strategic plan or business case in response to organisational challenges, supported by research and analysis.

• Poster presentation: create a visual summary of your analysis, such as a strategy or proposal, with a short written explanation.

• Learning log or reflective practice: write a short reflective piece to evaluate your professional learning, development or application of theory in practice.

• Infographic and commentary: design an infographic to present a business or research idea, supported by a short written explanation.

• Presentation or video pitch: present your strategic analysis or project proposal through a recorded or live presentation.

• Research thesis: complete a dissertation investigating a business issue relevant to your role or specialism, with independent research and strategic recommendations.

Walbrook’s Master of Business Administration in Data Analytics combines advanced business administration and business analytics with leadership and strategy. An MBA in Data Analytics is a management-focused degree that explores how data informs business strategy and leadership decisions. It’s ideal if you want to learn how to interpret complex data, manage analytics projects, and lead teams that use data to solve business challenges. The focus is on strategic leadership, communication, and decision-making – helping you apply data insights in real organisational contexts. 

An MSc in Data Analytics, by contrast, is typically more technical, concentrating on programming, data modelling, and advanced analytics methods. While Walbrook doesn’t offer a dedicated MSc in Data Analytics, our MSc Computer Science with Data Science combines key technical areas – such as data analysis, machine learning, and computing – with broader computer science skills, making it a great choice if you’re interested in the technical side of data-driven innovation.

AN MBA Data Analytics degree develops the skills to use insight to guide business strategy and performance. Your MBA Data Analytics is delivered through an online study platform, where you’ll study either one or two modules at a time depending on your study mode. Full-time students take two modules in parallel (with a short gap between start dates), while part-time students complete one module at a time.
