MBA Human Resource Management

To apply for the Walbrook MBA, you’ll need to meet one of the following:

Option 1:

• A 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution plus relevant professional experience (typically 2+ years).

• If you have less than 2 years’ experience, you’re still encouraged to apply. We’ll review your academic and professional background on a case-by-case basis.

Option 2:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.

Thinking of transferring institutions or have you studied before? You can apply to transfer up to 60 credits towards your MBA. Please note that credits can’t be awarded for the Research Development or Capstone Project modules.

Overseas qualifications may be accepted and will be subject to evidence of equivalency normally verified through ECCTIS (UK ENIC). 

If English isn't your first language, you’ll be asked to provide proof of your English language proficiency in one of the following forms. Alternatively, you may be accepted if you have previously studied in English at an appropriate level and attended a recognised institution.

IELTS

• Evidence of a score of IELTS Level 6.5 or above with no element below 6.0.

TOEFL iBT®

• Evidence of a score of 88 overall (with 18 in reading, 19 in listening, 19 in speaking and 23 in writing).

Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English (ISE)

• Evidence of a score of ISE II with distinction in each skill.

• Please note that Trinity College ISE academic results are only valid for two years.

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English

• Evidence of a score of 176 overall, with 169 in each component.

• Strategy Formulation and Implementation

  This module gives you the tools for business strategy and strategic leadership. Develop management skills in strategic management and planning, learn how global organisations plan for success, apply data-led insight, and align strategy with real-world business problems through structured analysis and reflection.

• Change Management

  Companies must adapt to sustain positive organisational performance. This module focuses on how leaders navigate change, using data-driven insight and effective communication to manage transformation. You’ll build confidence and the professional skills in communication, problem solving, and decision-making to become an effective leader in evolving workplaces.

• Marketing Communication

  Discover how analytics supports business administration and brand strategy. This module develops effective data-interpretation and communication skills to create campaigns that connect insight with outcomes in competitive business environments.

• Agile HRM

  Explore how a critical understanding of agile human resource management strategies enhance adaptability and performance. You’ll apply data analytics and leadership insight to assess organisational performance, foster innovation, and improve workforce planning in today’s data-driven world.

• Financial and Business Intelligence

  Gain a data-driven view of business analytics and finance. This module develops critical thinking and skills in analytical techniques, with a focus on evaluating performance, interpreting data, and applying predictive analytics for smarter strategic decision making and long-term organisational success.

• Research Methods

  Develop professional skills to support independent academic and applied research. This module introduces research methods, analytical techniques, and statistical analysis, preparing you to investigate real-world problems and produce meaningful insights that inform strategy.

• Research Development

  Prepare for your final project by defining your focus area and approach. You’ll refine research aims, apply analytical frameworks, and develop critical thinking, applying analytical techniques and practical skills to design a research project around your chosen topic.

• Research Project

  Conduct an independent study on a topic that matters to you. You’ll apply your research methods, analysis, and problem-solving abilities to produce insights and recommendations that contribute to effective management practice in global business contexts. 

Most modules include more than one assessment, helping you build skills gradually and apply your learning in different ways. You might complete two or three shorter tasks instead of one final assignment – weighted, for example, at 25%, 25% and 50%.

• Presentation or video pitch: present your strategic analysis or project proposal through a recorded or live presentation.

• Research thesis: complete a dissertation investigating a business issue relevant to your role or specialism, with independent research and strategic recommendations.
