Applying for a student loan?
If you’re planning to fund your degree with a student loan, we recommend applying for your loan at the same time as your Walbrook degree application. You’ll need to pay for your first module up front to start your course. But starting both applications together can help make sure your funding is in place once your degree has started.
Have questions about UK student loans? See our guide to UK Student Finance.
4. Upload your documents
If you didn’t upload proof of eligibility to study as part of your online application, you’ll need to do this now. To upload documents after you’ve submitted your application, simply log in to our online application portal and select "Upload Documents”.
The documents you'll be asked to upload will vary depending on your:
- course of study
- previous academic experience
- previous work experience
Once your documents are received, our Admissions team will review everything to confirm your eligibility.
Take a look below at the documents we may ask for. If you're unsure what documents to upload, reach out to our Enrolment Advisor team who are on hand to support you.
-
The documents you'll be asked to upload will vary depending on your:
- course of study
- previous academic experience
- previous work experience
Below are typical documents we may ask for. Feel free to speak to an Enrolment Advisor for a clearer understanding of what you'll be asked to upload.
Typical documents required for postgraduate study:
- A copy of your UK/international degree certificate or transcript
- Your CV, highlighting at least 2 years of relevant work experience – if required
- Any additional documents that support your application (for example, professional training or certifications)
- English Language qualification if English is not your first language
-
Uploading your documents is simple. Just log in to our online application portal and select "Upload Documents”.
-
Our admissions team will review your documents to verify your eligibility.
If your documents are accepted:
Once your documents and eligibility have been reviewed and confirmed, you’ll receive an unconditional offer to study with us by email. You’ll then move on to the next step in the admissions process – paying for your first module(s).
If we need more information:
We’ll contact you by email if we need additional documents or if there are any issues with what you've provided.
-
-
Make sure your files are clear and easy to read.
-
Upload all pages of your documents, including any transcripts or official letters.
-
Double-check that your files are in PDF, JPG, or PNG format.
-
What happens after you submit your application and documents?
Once we’ve reviewed your application, you’ll receive an outcome by email. You’ll either be offered a place — conditionally, if we need more details, or unconditionally, if we can confirm your eligibility straight away. If we’re unable to offer you a place, we’ll let you know why and share your next steps.
-
Receive your conditional offer
Once you've submitted your application, our Admissions team will review the information you've provided. If you're eligible to study with us but haven’t yet uploaded all required documents, you’ll receive a conditional offer by email.
This offer means you're on track to join us – but we’ll need to receive and verify your documents before your place is confirmed.
We’ll include clear next steps and deadlines in your email, so you know exactly what’s needed.
-
Receive your unconditional offer
Once you've submitted all required documents and we’ve confirmed your eligibility, you’ll receive an unconditional offer to study with us.
This is your official confirmation that you're eligible to start your degree. The next step is to secure your place by arranging your payment.
Note: If you submitted all your documents upfront and meet the entry requirements, you’ll skip the conditional offer stage and move straight to an unconditional offer.
5. Pay for your full programme or for your first module(s)
Once you’ve received your unconditional offer, you’ll be invited to make your first payment to secure your place. You’ll be asked to do one of the following, depending on your preference:
- Pay for your first module(s) depending on your chosen study duration:
- full-time students need to pay for two modules upfront to confirm their place.
- part-time students pay for one module upfront to confirm their place.
- Pay for your degree programme in-full (and receive a 15% reduction on your total tuition fees).
This step must be completed at least 7 days before your chosen start date – otherwise, your start will be deferred to the next monthly intake.
Still need to arrange your finances? See our guides to:
-
Postgraduate students (using a Master's Loan or self-funding)
If you've applied for a Master's Loan, you’ll receive your first loan instalment after you start your degree studies. This means you’ll need to pay for your first module(s) yourself before your degree begins, as you won’t receive any loan funds until after your start date.
-
We operate a module-by-module payment system, which means you pay for the module (or modules) you’re about to study before it begins. You also have the option to pay for your full programme upfront if you prefer.
This isn’t an extra cost, and it secures your place on your chosen start date.
Once your payment is made, you’ll be able to complete your registration and access your learning platform.
-
If you’re studying full-time, you'll pay for two modules upfront. If you’re studying part-time, you’ll pay for one module.
You also have the option to pay for your full programme in advance. If you choose this option, you’ll receive a 15% reduction on your tuition fees.
-
You’ll need to make your payment at least 7 days before your chosen start date.
If your payment is not made at least 7 days before your start date, your start will be deferred to the next available intake.
-
If you decide to withdraw within 14 days of your degree start date, you’ll receive a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds after this period.
6. Officially enrol as a Walbrook student
Once you've paid for your first module(s) or your full programme, we’ll invite you to complete your registration. This includes uploading proof of ID and completing your HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) form.
Once that’s done, you’ll be officially enrolled.
-
Active participation in your studies
During the first few weeks after your start date, we’ll check to confirm your active participation. This process helps ensure you’re settling into your studies and making progress in your course. Active participation includes:
- logging into your online study platform
- accessing your course materials.
Important for students using a tuition fee loan:
Once we can confirm you're actively participating in your course, we’ll notify the Student Loans Company (SLC):
- At this point, your Master's loan will be released to you in instalments.
FAQs about applying to study at Walbrook
-
When you apply for a course, you may receive either a conditional or unconditional offer. Here’s what they mean:
-
Conditional offer: your place on your chosen course is secured as long as you meet certain requirements, such as providing additional documents like proof of qualifications or English language proficiency.
-
Unconditional offer: you’ve met all the entry requirements, and your place on the course is guaranteed. To accept your unconditional offer, you will need to pay for your first module(s), or your programme in full upfront.
-
-
Yes. You’re free to switch between full-time and part-time as your circumstances change.
When you apply, you’ll choose your initial study mode:
-
Full-time means studying two modules at once.
-
Part-time means studying one module at a time.
If you need to adjust your pace later, you can either switch study modes or take a short study break. If you take a break, we’ll let you know the next available date to restart, as each module runs on a set schedule – so there might be a short wait before your next module is available.
You can also study two modules at once to catch up, depending on module availability at the time.
Whatever you decide, we’ll support you through the process and help you stay within the maximum registration period to complete your degree.
-
-
When applying, you'll need to provide:
-
Proof of your highest academic qualification (like a degree certificate or transcript)
-
A CV showing your relevant professional experience
-
Proof of English language ability (if required)
If English isn't your first language, you'll also need to submit English language test results, like IELTS Level 6 or above.
For full details, see our guide to entry requirements.
