Online course structure explained

Learn about the structure of our online degrees. Discover how modules and study modes work at Walbrook

What you need to know about your course structure

At Walbrook, there’s no waiting for traditional term dates – and no need to juggle multiple subjects at once. You’ll focus on one module at a time (or two if you study full-time), joining the next available start date and progressing through your degree in a way that fits your schedule.

Whether you study full-time or part-time, you’ll follow a clear and consistent format: structured learning, expert support and regular assessment – designed to keep you on track and moving forward.

Flexible starts, structured progress

Our online master’s degrees are built for flexibility, with monthly start dates and a structured, modular approach to learning. This means:

  • You join the next available module(s) after enrolling – no waiting for term starts.

  • You’ll typically study one module at a time part-time, or two in parallel full-time (with a short gap between start dates).

  • For each module, you’ll have eight weeks to work through your learning and assessments.

  • You’ll progress with a cohort of students studying the same module.

  • You can switch between full-time and part-time if your circumstances change.

What a module looks like

Whether you’re studying one module at a time (part-time) or two in parallel (full-time), each module is designed to help you go deep – and stay in control.

Each module includes:

  • Structured topics, with engaging videos, reading, and tasks.

  • Real-world learning activities like strategic proposals or case studies.

  • Online discussion and peer collaboration.

  • 2-3 assessments based on your learning and real-life application.

How will I manage my study time?

You’ll have eight weeks to complete each module – but when you study during those eight weeks is up to you. Whether you prefer daily study sessions or longer weekend blocks, you’ll have the flexibility to plan a routine that fits your lifestyle. You’ll also get support and access to tools to help you track your progress and stay motivated.

Can I switch between full-time and part-time study?

Yes. You’re free to switch between full-time and part-time as your circumstances change.

You’ll start by choosing your study mode when you apply. Full-time means studying two modules at once, while part-time means studying one at a time. If your circumstances change, you can adjust your pace – either by switching modes or by taking a short study break.

If you take a break, we’ll let you know the next available date for your return. Each module runs on a set schedule, so depending on the timing, you may need to wait a little while for your next module to be available again.

You can also choose to study two modules at once (what we call “doubling up”) if you’d like to catch up – but this depends on which modules are available at the time.

We’ll support you in making changes and help you stay within the maximum registration period to complete your MBA.
