Explore how our online degrees fit around your life – with flexible start dates, full- and part-time options, and the freedom to study whenever it works for you. That’s The Walbrook Way.
At Walbrook, you don’t have to wait for traditional term dates. With 12 start dates a year (one each month) you can begin your degree within weeks of your application. And when you start, you’ll join the next available module alongside other students studying the same subject, so you’re part of the learning community from day one.
Each module runs for 8 weeks and focuses on one subject area, with weekly topics, interactive learning, and regular assessments to keep you on track. Full-time students start a new module every 4 weeks (so most of the time, two run at once), while part-time students study one at a time.

Most students complete their degree in around 14 months full-time or 24 months part-time – with built-in flexibility if you need more time. Both routes are designed to give you choice over how you study – whether you want to progress quickly or balance learning with work and family life.
Each module lasts 8 weeks.
When you start your degree, you'll study the first 4 weeks of your first module, before your second module begins, so you can settle into your studies before the pace picks up.
From then on, a new module begins every 4 weeks, so you’ll usually study two at once, but without starting two new modules at the same time.
It’s the fastest way to complete your degree – you could finish in just 14 months.
Each module lasts 8 weeks.
You’ll only ever study one module at a time, moving to the next when the previous one finishes, so you can stay focused on one subject at a time.
There’s no overlap of modules, giving you the flexibility to fit study around work, family, or other commitments – unless you choose to switch to full-time.
You'll have 2 years to complete your degree, giving you space to fit study around work and family, while keeping steady progress.
Every module is carefully structured to help you build knowledge step by step and apply what you learn in real-world contexts. You’ll explore new ideas each week through guided activities, interactive content, and regular opportunities to connect with tutors and peers.
Structured topics, with engaging videos, reading, and tasks.
Real-world learning activities like strategic proposals or case studies.
Online discussion and peer collaboration.
3 assessments per module, based on your learning and real-life application.
I am currently in full time employment, so being able to study at my own time and being able to be in control of my own studying was really important, and Walbrook provided that as part of their online degrees.
And a really important thing for me was how flexible they are with the entry requirements, because everyone's on a different journey and everyone has different past experiences, past qualifications or work experiences.
I have been out of education for a while, so for me, it was really important that they considered that, and they took that part of the acceptance process to the MBA programme.
What’s something you were worried about before starting, that turned out better than expected?
One thing that did worry me a little bit was the degree of self-teaching that I would have to do.
I did worry about, given that it's an online degree, you don't necessarily have the ability to attend lectures or speak to tutors, but I was quickly reminded that is actually not the case.
There's plenty of available resources that you can actually utilise, again at your own time, without having to feel like you're alone./p>
And during this journey, I have actually been able to meet quite a lot of people that are also on the online programme.
And we've kind of built our own community, so we don't feel as alone as we thought, as when you're studying an online degree versus the in-person campus students.
What surprised you most about online learning?
What surprised me most was the degree of flexibility. I knew it was going to be flexible, given that it's an online degree.
However, I didn't quite appreciate the degree of the flexibility, and also not being necessarily bound by any live lecture times or by any tutor support.
Whilst I do have tutor support available, I get to decide at what point I want to use it and for me that's really important.
Can you walk us through a typical day in your life. How do you juggle study, work, and everything else?
A typical day in the life is actually relatively simple. I wake up and I go to work, go into the office. Unfortunately,
I'm not one of the lucky ones that gets to work from home too often. So, for me, having again, an online degree was really important so I can juggle my time.
So, once I get back from the office, life admin takes over and then onto my MBA.
So, I get on to that until late evening. But often because of my full-time job, I may have late evenings, so it allows me to kind of juggle my time.
But evenings I tend to do more for kind of online module work or any self-assessment and then juggle that depending on with basis.
And I try to have a life somewhere in between.
How has being able to study your way anytime, anywhere helped you reach your goals?
One of my goals was to really be able to manoeuvre studying whilst working full time and being able to study anywhere at any time meant that often I can actually study whilst I'm on holiday, or whilst I'm having a bit of an empty weekend, and that model I think really facilitates being able to take a course and an online degree at any point in your life.
Whether you're fresh out of one degree and going to another, or whether you're a full-time employee like myself, or any other person that's trying to entice a new journey.
That model really works because you're able to juggle it around your current lifestyle rather than the typical degree, which means you have to adapt your lifestyle to the degree, which in this case, it's not the case.
With The Walbrook Way, when you study is up to you. Each module has three fixed assessment points, so you’ll need to keep an eye on deadlines and plan your time accordingly. Whether you prefer short daily study sessions or longer weekend blocks, you’ll have the flexibility to create a routine that fits your lifestyle. You’ll also get support and access to tools to help you track your progress and stay motivated.
I like that there’s pacing built in to keep you on track, but also the flexibility to fit around work, life and kids! It’s good to see the module structure ahead of time and know what assessments are coming up, and I’ve enjoyed the variety, from discussion posts to video presentations and reports. The discussion forums are great, as you learn a lot from peers, and the lecturers interact too so you know you’re on the right track.
Sometimes your circumstances change – and that’s okay. Walbrook programmes are designed to flex around real life, so if your schedule changes, your studies can too. Whether you want to study faster, slow down for a while, or take time out between modules, you’ll have the freedom to adjust and the support to stay on track. That flexibility is part of every degree at Walbrook – so when life changes, you won’t fall behind or lose momentum.
If life changes or you need more flexibility, you can switch between full and part-time study at any point in your degree. We’ll help you plan the change so you can continue progressing smoothly.
Benefits of switching between full or part-time
Changing pace can help you study around other priorities:
Switching from full-time to part-time gives you space to handle busier periods in work or personal life while staying on track.
Switching from part-time to full-time lets you study two modules at once, so you can move through your degree more quickly.
If you need to pause your studies for a short time, you can take a study break between modules. This flexibility is built into our structure to help you manage life’s changes without losing progress.
Benefits of taking a study break
Sometimes pressing pause helps you keep moving forward:
Take time to manage work, family, or life events without losing momentum in your degree.
Reflect on what you’ve learned so far and return feeling recharged, confident, and ready to make progress on your next module.
You can request a change in pace through your online study platform.
We'll confirm how this affects your upcoming modules and payment schedule.
Because modules follow a set calendar, there may sometimes be a short wait before you can join the next available module.
We’ll aim to help you complete your degree as close as possible to your chosen study duration (14 months full-time or 24 months part-time). Our usual recommended study period is two years.
We’ll support you if you switch between full and part-time study, helping you stay on track towards completing your degree within your original timeframe.
You can request a study break between modules, after completing one and before starting the next.
Breaks can be 1 or 2 months long, or longer if approved individually by our academic team.
We’ll review your request, confirm how it affects your study plan and payments, and let you know your next available start date.
Because modules follow a set calendar, there may sometimes be a short wait before you can resume your studies.
We’ll help you stay close to your original study plan and aim to ensure you don’t finish too far beyond your chosen duration. Our recommended study period is two years.
We’ll confirm your next start date when you’re ready to return and help you pick up your studies again smoothly. You’ll have a clear plan for resuming your studies so you can continue working towards finishing your degree on schedule.
