This unit focuses on the key principles and parties in trade finance, exchange risk, the various methods of settlement and the rules governing international trade. It also provides an overview of the impact and significance of sanctions, corruption, money laundering and fraud in international trade.
This unit focuses on trade documents and how to interpret the methods of international trade finance to solve the issues you might face. It also discusses the impact of digitisation, big data and cybersecurity considerations on international trade.

CITF is assessed through two one-hour examinations on Brightspace, with each unit consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions (30 marks) and 2 case studies with 5 linked multiple-choice questions (10 marks). The pass mark for each unit is 70%.
A student who fails one unit out of the two will only need to resit their failed unit.
Your first exam is included in the registration fee. If you need to retake an exam a resit fee will be payable.
You can take your exam any time through our Brightspace platform with remote invigilation. There's no need to book in advance. Before you start, you'll need to do a quick 360-degree scan of your surroundings using your laptop or webcam.
