Your graduation is more than a ceremony. It’s a moment to recognise everything it took to get here – the time, the focus, and the determination behind your studies.
In October 2026, we’ll be coming together to celebrate that achievement. Whether you studied online or on campus, with LIBF or Walbrook Institute London, this is your chance to mark the milestone alongside friends, family, and fellow graduates.
Below is all the information you need to start preparing for your ceremony, including how to book your place, gowning and photography details, and guest information. For now, this is your first look at what’s ahead.

10am: Arrival and registration – from 10am to allow time for registration, gown collection, refreshments and photography.
11.20am: Guests seated
12pm: Graduation and Presentation Ceremony (Great Hall)
1.30pm: Afternoon tea (Old Library)
3pm: Gowns returned and day concludes
Arriving late? The doors to the Great Hall will close shortly before 12pm. If you arrive after this time, please report to the registration desk. The Graduation Team will let you know whether you can enter, depending on how far the ceremony has progressed.

Your ceremony takes place in the Great Hall at London’s Guildhall – a historic setting at the heart of the City.
With its soaring arches and stained-glass windows, the hall has hosted monarchs, mayors, and momentous occasions since the 12th century. It’s a fitting backdrop to celebrate your own achievements – and to reflect the ambition and progress that our graduates carry into their futures.
Eligible students will receive an email invitation with a link to book their place. Online booking is expected to open from early September 2026.
No. Attending the Graduation Ceremony is entirely optional, although we would be delighted to celebrate your achievement with you.
Student tickets are free. You will be able to purchase up to eight guest tickets when booking opens. Ticket prices will be confirmed before booking opens.
The booking deadline will be confirmed when online booking opens. We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your place and allow plenty of time to plan your attendance.

Academic dress is required for all graduates attending the 2026 Graduation Ceremony.
Professional Education (PE) students are required to hire and wear a graduation gown.
Smart clothing is encouraged for all guests. As this is a formal celebration, we recommend avoiding jeans where possible.
The ceremony will be live streamed on our YouTube channel, allowing family and friends who are unable to attend to celebrate with you from anywhere in the world.
The live stream will be available to watch on demand after the ceremony.
Official graduation photography will be available to book through Ede & Ravenscroft when online booking opens in September 2026.
Photography and video footage will be captured throughout the Graduation Ceremony and may be used by Walbrook/LIBF on our website, social media channels and other promotional materials.
If you or any of your guests would prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please let a member of the Graduation Team know on arrival.
If you or your guests are travelling from overseas, please check the UK Government's visa guidance to confirm whether you need a visa to travel to the UK.
If you require an official visa support letter to accompany your application for the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, please complete our 2026 Graduation Visa Form.
Once we have received your completed form, a member of the Graduation Team will prepare and send your visa support letter.
Please allow sufficient time for your visa application to be processed before making your travel arrangements.
All eligible graduating students will be contacted directly by email with a formal invitation and a link to book their place online.
The 2026 Graduation Ceremony is open to:
Higher Education students, including on-campus, online and degree apprentices, who have successfully completed an eligible qualification.
Professional Education students who have successfully completed one of the following qualifications:
Professional Diploma in Banking & Finance
Advanced Diploma in Banking & Finance
Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Financial Advice (Adv DipFA)
Professional Experiential Route (PER)
Chartered Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) Advocates.
Students who have previously deferred their Graduation Ceremony and have been invited to attend the 2026 ceremony.

We understand that our study programmes finish at different times throughout the year. For the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, the standard cut-off date for completing your studies to be eligible to attend is 31 July 2026.
Students who complete their studies after this date would not typically be eligible for the 2026 Graduation Ceremony and will instead be invited to attend a future ceremony.
Exception: an exception applies to students completing the Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Financial Advice (Adv DipFA) whose results are due to be released on 28 August 2026. These students will remain eligible to attend the 2026 Graduation Ceremony.
Graduation Ceremony invitations will be sent to all eligible graduates when online bookings open, which is expected to be in early September 2026. Your invitation will include everything you need to book your place, purchase guest tickets, hire your graduation gown and order official photography.
Yes. If you're unable to attend the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, you can defer your attendance for up to two years. Please let us know as soon as possible by emailing the Graduation Team so we can update our records and invite you to a future ceremony.
If you choose to defer, you will be added to our Graduation Ceremony deferral list and invited to attend a future ceremony. As we do not plan ceremonies more than a year in advance, we are unable to confirm the date or venue for the 2027 ceremony at this stage. We will contact you with further information once details are confirmed.
When you receive your official Graduation Ceremony invitation, please let us know if you do not wish to attend by following the instructions in the invitation email. This will ensure we can update our records and stop sending you graduation-related communications.
The online booking system for graduates and guest tickets will open in September 2026. Eligible graduates will be able to book their own place and purchase up to eight guest tickets.

There is no charge for our graduates to attend the Graduation Ceremony. If you wish to bring guests, guest tickets will be available to purchase. Ticket prices for the 2026 ceremony will be confirmed when booking opens.
You can purchase up to eight guest tickets at the same time as confirming your own complimentary place.
Yes. Children are welcome at the Graduation Ceremony. Children under the age of 5 can attend free of charge if they sit on an accompanying adult's lap. A reduced ticket price is available for children under 12 who require their own seat. Ticket prices for the 2026 ceremony will be confirmed when booking opens.

When placing your gown order, you'll find guidance on the Ede & Ravenscroft website on how to measure yourself to ensure your gown (and cap if required) is the correct size.
Your gown can be collected when you arrive at the Guildhall from 10:00am. Members of the Graduation Team will direct you to the gown collection and return area.
Please return your gown by 3:00pm, before the event concludes.

The Guildhall is in the heart of the City of London and there is a wide range of accommodation within walking distance. To help you make your arrangements, we have drawn up a list of some hotels close to the Guildhall. Please contact the hotel directly for prices and availability. Yes. The 2026 Graduation Ceremony will be live streamed on our YouTube channel, allowing family and friends to watch the event live from anywhere in the world.
If you're unable to watch live, the ceremony will also be available to watch on demand after the event.
To ensure the ceremony runs smoothly and out of respect for all graduates, we ask that all graduates and guests remain seated until the ceremony has concluded. You are then welcome to leave and continue celebrating with your guests.
Yes. Refreshments will be available on arrival, and afternoon tea will be served following the Graduation Ceremony. These are included as part of your graduation ticket.

When completing the online Graduation Ceremony booking form, please use the accessibility section to let us know about any support or adjustments you or your guests may require. The Graduation Team will review your requirements and contact you if any further information is needed.
Yes. There are several public car parks within walking distance of Guildhall.
The nearest is London Wall Car Park.
Other nearby public car parks include

If you require a visa to attend the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, please complete the 2026 Graduation Visa Form. Once we have received your completed form, a member of the Graduation Team will prepare and send you a visa support letter to assist with your visa application.

No. Your official certificate will have been issued before the Graduation Ceremony, in line with your programme's award process. During the ceremony, graduates are presented with a ceremonial scroll as part of the stage presentation.
We normally issue award certificates and transcripts within 30 days of your award being approved by the Programme Assessment Board. This ensures that every certificate is checked and verified.

The name on your certificate will match the awarding body at the time you registered for your qualification. This is to ensure your award is accurate and reflects the institution you studied with.
If you need a letter confirming the institution name that applied during your studies, please contact us. You can request this now or at any point in the future.
All Higher Education students (on campus, online, degree apprentices), registered pre-August 2023: the name on your certificate will be London Institute of Banking and Finance.
All HE students (on campus, online, degree apprentices), registered between August 2023 - 1 April 2025: the name on your certificate will be LIBF.
All HE students, registered from 2 April 2025: the name on your certificate will be Walbrook Institute London.
Professional education students: the wording on your certificate will say “LIBF, part of Walbrook Institute London”
Higher Education graduates
You will have received an email (from certificates@libf.ac.uk) with instructions on how to access your certificate and transcript. These documents are only valid when viewed on the certificate portal, however you can give third parties (e.g. your employer) access to view your certificate on the portal using the ‘Connections’ feature. The email will also have information on how to request your complimentary paper copy of the certificate and transcript. Printing time for this service is approximately 2 weeks.
Professional Education graduates
Your digital certificate will have been provided for you on the certificate portal on your MyLIBF account. Your certificate is only valid when viewed on the certificate portal. However, you can give third parties (e.g. your employer) access to view your certificate on the portal using the ‘Connections’ feature. Should you require a paper copy of your certificate as well, this can be easily ordered through the certificate portal. An additional charge will apply for this service and print time is approximately two weeks.
