Walbrook students can choose from two specialist banking and finance degrees
Students can now apply for one of two new on-campus undergraduate degrees with Walbrook Institute London designed for careers in banking, fintech and financial services.
Prospective students can apply now for the new BSc (Hons) Banking and Digital Finance, and BSc (Hons) Finance, Investment and Risk degrees. Teaching on the two courses will start at Walbrook’s campus in the heart of London from September 2027.
Walbrook, formerly known as the London Institute of Banking and Finance, has been part of London’s financial history for almost 150 years.
Introducing our specialist degrees for careers in banking and finance
The two full-time specialist undergraduate degrees look at different areas of banking and financial services. They are tailored for students’ career aspirations, and the skills employers are looking for as technology, regulation and international markets evolve.
The BSc (Hons) Finance, Investment and Risk degree examines how financial markets and investments work, how companies and investments are valued, and how to analyse financial information to assess risk.
Meanwhile the BSc (Hons) Banking and Digital Finance degree is focused on how banks work, with practical modules on data, digital finance and regulation.
Walbrook: 145+ years of banking and finance education
Walbrook Institute London was originally founded as the Institute of Bankers in 1879. It has been providing specialist banking and financial services degrees since it gained taught degree awarding powers in 2010. In the most recent Graduate Outcomes Survey, 84% of Walbrook BSc graduates were in employment or further study 15 months after the end of their degree. Some of the world’s top banks and financial services firms employ Walbrook graduates.
More recently Walbrook has expanded to offer a range of online degree programmes in other career-focused subjects like business and management, psychology, education and artificial intelligence. It also provides on-campus postgraduate degree programmes in business and management.
LIBF, which is part of Walbrook Institute London, is also a leading provider of professional banking and financial services qualifications, such as the industry-leading CeMAP (certificate in mortgage advice and practice), as well as Level 3 to 6 apprenticeships.
Building on Walbrook’s history in banking and finance
Professor Steve Hill, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Walbrook Institute London, said:
Launching these two new undergraduate degree programmes at our London campus is a really proud moment for us, and builds on our long history in banking and finance education. We’ve been offering degree programmes for over 15 years, but these will be the first new on-campus undergraduate degrees since we became Walbrook Institute London in 2025. We’re looking forward to welcoming the first students on these programmes next year and seeing them take their first steps towards rewarding careers in banking and finance.
