Jonny Edwards is a seasoned researcher-entrepreneur who bridges cutting-edge academia with high-impact commercial ventures.

After pioneering neural-network research in the mid1990s and teaching machine learning and information theory at UK universities, he founded three advanced computing companies: Thoughtful Technology (data science consultancy with 20+ successful projects), LifeQueue (a medical ML firm that delivered a state-of-the-art automated head and neck cancer diagnosis system), and Temporal Computing (hardware that leverages controlled time delays as storage). He has served as an international lead in temporal computing research. During the  COVID19 pandemic he worked on NHSDigital analytics, providing load prediction for the NHSLogin service, building a graph based search engine for a major COVID research corpus, and provided machine learning to the central NHS Vaccine data team. Most recently, he has worked on deep learning acceleration efforts at several businesses including hands-on PyTorch engineering to speed up all DL models, with a focus on large language model applications.
 

Paula is an experienced Computer Science academic who has lectured on university undergraduate and postgraduate courses both in the UK and overseas. She has also developed and delivered on-line courses for universities and commercial organisations.

As a former academic subject leader, Paula managed a large team of lecturers and researchers, presented at conferences, business events and engaged with industry representatives on course development and graduate career opportunities.

Paula was a panel member for the development of the Degree Apprenticeship in Cyber Security and is currently an End Point Assessor for this apprenticeship at a number of UK universities.

Dr. Syed Usama Yunas is a researcher and lecturer specialising in machine learning, signal processing and intelligent systems. He holds an MSc in Digital Image and Signal Processing and a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester.

He is currently a researcher and lecturer at the University of the West of England (UWE) and has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students across several institutions, including UWE, the University of Exeter, the University of Manchester and universities in Pakistan. His teaching spans areas such as machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, robotics and data-driven systems.

Dr. Yunas is the module author for Principles of Machine Learning, where he focuses on building strong conceptual understanding alongside practical application. His teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, real-world relevance and helping students develop the confidence to apply machine learning techniques responsibly in academic and professional settings.

Nigel is an x-Deloitte Partner and expert M&A advisor with a deep and wide knowledge of the business dynamics and commercial drivers in the travel and leisure sector, born out of 35-years hands-on experience. He has also advised on over 100 completed deals across the leisure sector.

Dr. Hamza worked for many higher education institutions including King's College London, University of Bedfordshire, Coventry University, University of Orleans (France) and University of Burgundy (France). Hamza has 13 years' experience in higher education; he has designed and taught a wide range of modules in Accounting and Finance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervised many dissertation students.

Paul Kong is a lecturer in the academic community at Walbrook. Dr. Pereira is Associate Professor in Finance at Kingston University and has over 12 years of experience in the UK higher education sector.

Before joining the world of academia, he worked in credit underwriting and quality assurance processes for Citigroup. Dr Pereira’s research interests are in the field of accounting and finance, with a focus on integrated reporting, sustainability reporting, risk disclosure, and financial institutions. His work has been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals and is regularly presented at international conferences.

Dr Pereira lectures on a range of banking, management accounting and corporate finance topics across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and he specialises in delivering workshops and seminars aimed at leveraging the power of Bloomberg software for advanced financial analysis.
